About Access100
We are a disability-led technology organization working to remove barriers to community participation across Hawaiʻi.
Mission & Vision
Our Vision
A Hawaiʻi where people with disabilities lead the way in removing barriers: to employment, to participation, to thriving.
Our Mission
Access100 works to dismantle barriers to community participation for people with disabilities through technology solutions, employment pathways, and leadership development.
Core Values
- Disability-Led. We are disability-led because we believe people with disabilities are the best experts on their own needs. The barriers we work to remove are ones we experience ourselves, and the solutions we build come from that lived expertise. Our leadership, staff, and board reflect the communities we serve, ensuring that every decision is informed by direct, lived experience with disability.
- Technology as Employment. Every service we deliver is a job for a person with a disability. The work itself is the employment program. We don’t separate service delivery from workforce development. They are the same thing. When a client hires Access100 for accessible web development or meeting services, they are directly creating employment for people with disabilities.
- Accessibility by Design. Universal access is built into everything we create, not added afterward. From the first line of code to the final product, we design with the full range of human ability in mind. Our team tests with real assistive technology because we use it ourselves every day.
- Practical Impact. Real tools, real outcomes. We measure success by barriers removed. We focus on solutions that make a tangible difference in people’s daily lives, whether that’s a meeting they can finally attend, a document they can finally read, or a career they can finally pursue.
Our Approach
We are disability-led because we believe people with disabilities are the best experts on their own needs. The barriers we work to remove are ones we experience ourselves, and the solutions we build come from that lived expertise.
Access100 is grounded in Independent Living philosophy. This means:
- At least 51% of leadership are people with disabilities
- Every service we deliver creates employment for people with disabilities through the dual-purpose model
- We bring lived experience to every solution we build
Our Work
Access100 works through two interconnected lenses. Every technology service we deliver is also an employment opportunity for a person with a disability. The work itself is the program.
Employment & Workforce Development
We create employment pathways for people with disabilities through contracted technology services (the dual-purpose model), job training and vocational rehabilitation in technology fields, and pipeline programs like Youth Leadership.
Technology Services & Solutions
We deliver technology services to government and private-sector customers, including accessible web development, meeting services, administrative services, and civic technology.
Full civic participation starts with access to information. We aim to bring together government meeting data from across Hawaiʻi with plain-language summaries and timely notifications, so every resident can stay informed and show up at the table.
